Composite Process Engineer for FirePoint Rocket Technology – Denmark

FirePoint Rocket Technology (FPRT) is building one of the most unique and strategically important industrial projects in Denmark – a brand new production facility for solid rocket propellant and advanced defense-tech components. Our ambition is significant: we are scaling from the early operational phase to 300+ employees within the next 18 months.

By joining our team now, you will become part of the core team shaping a new high-tech, safety-critical production environment from the ground up. We are looking for a Composite Process Engineer who will ensure that our composite manufacturing processes are safe, stable, repeatable, and ready for serial production. You will report directly to our Senior Composite Process Technology Manager and collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Materials, HSE, and Maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Translate composite technology and material requirements into practical production parameters, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Own day-to-day process stability by monitoring variation, investigating deviations, and defining corrective actions.
  • Prepare and verify process readiness prior to production runs, including equipment settings, tooling, and environmental requirements.
  • Lead and support technical trials, pilot builds, process prove-outs, and qualification activities.
  • Support the commissioning and validation of production equipment, tooling, ovens, curing systems, and machining equipment.
  • Drive continuous process improvement to reduce variability, scrap, cycle times, and material loss.
  • Manage technical change control for changes to process parameters, tooling, equipment, or manufacturing methods.

Qualifications and Competencies

Professional and Operational Skills

  • Degree in Engineering (BSc or MSc) in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Composite Engineering, or equivalent strong industrial experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in composite manufacturing, process engineering, or materials engineering.
  • Practical experience with fiber-reinforced composites and thermoset resin-based processes (epoxy experience is highly desirable).
  • Hands-on experience with processes such as resin infusion/transfer, filament winding, lay-up, prepreg, molding, curing, or composite machining/finishing.
  • Proven experience creating or improving SOPs, work instructions, and manufacturing standards.
  • Background in industrialization, production ramp-up, technology transfer, or process stabilization.
  • Professional English language skills are a requirement; Danish language skills are considered an advantage.

Personal Attributes

  • A hands-on, highly structured, and solution-oriented approach to your tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a mindset for root-cause analysis (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys).
  • Ability to work close to shop-floor operations and maintain a clear overview under ramp-up pressure.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a proactive engineer who combines strong technical capabilities with a practical understanding of production. You thrive on being close to the shop floor, working with operators to ensure that process standards are practical, understood, and followed. You are motivated by establishing structure and stability in a dynamic Greenfield environment, and you maintain a clear perspective—even when working under tight deadlines in an accelerating growth phase.

Why Apply for This Position

At FPRT, you are offered a rare career opportunity to shape one of Denmark's most unique industrial and defense-tech projects. You will take on a central role with real impact, where your expertise directly determines the integrity and manufacturability of safety-critical products. We provide a professional, international environment with a flat structure, high autonomy, and a clear mission. Additionally, we offer top-of-market compensation and modern office facilities including an on-site gym and sauna.

Practical Information

  • Full-time position with an immediate start.
  • Location: Vojens, Denmark.
  • Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
