About the job 

We are looking for a Junior Quantum Electrical Engineer for our client’s physics and semiconductor laboratory in Kongens Lyngby. 

The lab is among the most advanced in Europe and you get to work with cutting-edge technology in a highly dynamic environment of scientist, researchers and engineers trying to push the boundaries of technology.   

As a Junior Quantum Electrical Engineer, you will support experimental quantum computing research. 

An experimental quantum computing setup comprises many pieces of commercial off-the-shelf and custom electronics and cryogenic equipment. 

A successful candidate will support the hardware team that designs and maintains this equipment. The team is equipped with state-of-the-art analog, digital and microwave tools.
 

The main job responsibilities are:

  • Help design and assemble analog, microwave and digital electronics for room and cryogenic temperatures. That includes circuit design, simulation, PCB design, prototyping and debugging. 
  • Benchmark and troubleshoot complex experimental setups.
  • Assist with maintaining of electronics and cryogenic equipment.
  • Load testers, initiate testing start. 
  • Perform visual inspection. 
  • Provide service delivery expertise in electrical testing of semiconductor components, including familiarity with various testing equipment and assembly tasks. 
  • Communicate and report to the lead person. 
  • Continuously improve the service quality and efficiency. 
  • Help train new employees  

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate with a master’s degree in experimental science (electrical engineering, microelectronics, physics, nanotech, etc.) with experience in most of the below mentioned: 

  • Excellent understanding of the analog or microwave electronics.
  • Ability to contribute to several cross-disciplinary projects at the same time.
  • Willingness to learn new electronics related subjects.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics design.
  • Some experience with Python/Matlab/C++ development.
  • Experience with microwave simulation tools is an advantage.
  • Some experience in Digital Signal Processing is an advantage.

  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Hands-on problem solver, engaging. 
  • Enjoys collaborating with researchers and technical staff with a range of experience.   Efficient, timely, and precise. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Research and/or lab experience. Ability to quickly integrate and work in a multidisciplinary, international team and effectively collaborate and communicate to meet the deadlines and deliver against program goals.
