We are looking for a Quantum Hardware Developer for our client’s physics and semiconductor laboratory in Kongens Lyngby. The lab is among the largest in Europe and you get to work with cutting edge technology in a highly dynamic environment of scientists, researchers and engineers trying to push the boundaries of Quantum computing.
In this role, you will help develop complex mechanical and electromechanical UHV and nanofabrication equipment capabilities for the manufacturing of nanoscale components for topological quantum computers within one of the world’s most advanced Quantum programs.
Responsibility:
- Design and develop complex UHV and HV Semiconductor equipment & cleanroom equipment.
- Develop mechanical, optomechanical, electromechanical, mechatronic designs, technical drawings, vacuum and electrical schematics for UHV hardware using CAD software.
- Optimization of existing designs
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external communication and support.
- Conduct tests and experiments to verify the design specifications and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate closely with senior process, material, fabrication scientist and engineers.
- Provide service delivery in English (oral and written).
- Continuously improve the service quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- MSc or BSc in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Optomechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field. (Recent graduate or with a few years of relevant experience after graduation).
- Experience in design and development of complex tools and equipment. (Ideally, UHV and Semiconductor equipment like MBE, UHV system, ALD, Sputtering, E-beam or a similar vacuum-based thin film deposition technique (your experience can be from projects at university).
- Attention to detail and accuracy to ensure the quality and reliability of mechanical systems and devices.
- Self-motivated and hands-on attitude with the ability to use structured problem-solving techniques to drive rapid issue.
- Self-driven and goal-oriented.
- Excellent collaboration skills.
- Capable to support the development of complex UHV and HV hardware.
- Capability to systematically solve problems.
- Fluent in written & oral English.
- UHV or UV vacuum skills.
- CAD skills SolidWorks.
